Brainstorming Documentaries

3 types of scheduling:
Inheritance: scheduling a new programme after a popular programme in hope that it inherits some of the audience
Pre- echo: scheduling a programme before a popular programme in hope that people turn over early to watch the end of it the new programme, like it and then watch it next time
Hammocking: scheduling a programme between two popular programmes so it benefits from both inheritance and pre - echo

Channel loyalty: where the audience watches mainly one channel all night

_________________________________________________________________________

For the fist brainstorm we had to come up with ten different documentaries and then read them out to the class.

First brain storm: school uniform, people obsessed with TV, Jewellery in school, teen drinking, Liverpool, popular sports, plastic surgery, individual businesses, fashion, hair, spice boys culture, kids brought up today, riots, immigration, notion of celebrity, culture, the arts of relaxation, technology, role models, global warming, psychics, health, university life, religion, extraordinary people, nerds, drugs, diet, pushy parents, changes in 50 years, 9/11, success, jobs, obesity, music, famous people, public transport, ghosts, films (media), how things are made, Media effects, drink driving, social networking, social groups

________________________________________________________________________

We then re-did the brainstorm but as a class and were told to not think of stereotypical documentaries and think of the first things that came to mind, what we liked and what we didn't like

Second brainstorm:
sweets, sandwiches, laughter, mushrooms, feet, nail varnish, ice, ambitions, love, seasons, colours, turnips, laptop, books, aubergines, pets, fruit, no, cats, superman, teeth, photographs, fears, psychos, TV, money, velvet, smells, embarrassment, planes, poverty, arrogance, homework, emotions

We were then told to choose 6 documentaries we would like to do ourselves either from the brainstorms or 6 more of your own, I decided to chose:
Fears/phobias, photographs, embarrassment, ambition, notion of celebrity, obsessions
